The New Vehicle Limited Warranty protects every new Ford. This warranty contains several sections focusing on specific systems and component coverage. In the unlikely event of any manufacturing or labor-related issue with your Ford, Ford-trained technicians using Ford-approved replacement parts will correct it ASAP. As your Ford dealer, we’ll tell you more about the protection you can expect from your Ford warranty.

Bumper-to-Bumper Coverage

This warranty section protects most of your Ford’s systems and components. Coverage applies for three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. This section also applies to your tires. If you have a defective tire, there is no labor charge to replace, install, and balance a new tire during the warranty period. The replacement cost of a new tire is pro-rate covered by Ford, starting from 100% of the cost during the first year to 30% of the price within the warranty’s last twelve months.

Some types of damage are not covered by warranty. This includes damage due to lack of maintenance, damage caused by the use of unauthorized parts, and accidental damage. The types of damage that are excluded are explained in more detail in your warranty handbook.

Powertrain Coverage

This section covers the most critical parts of your vehicle. Your engine, transmission, FWD, AWD, or 4WD are protected against any defect for five years or 60,000 miles. Protected items include all internal lubricated engine components, all internal transmission components, and the axle shafts.

Diesel Engine Coverage

If you have a direct injection diesel engine, the engine and certain of its components have extended coverage of five years or 100,000 miles. All components protected by this warranty are explained in your warranty handbook.

Hybrid & Electric Vehicle Unique Component Coverage

If you have a hybrid or electric vehicle, its electrical drivetrain is covered against any defect for eight years or 100,000 miles. The exact components covered vary depending on whether you have a hybrid or plug-in hybrid. All components covered by this warranty are listed in the handbook.

The high-voltage battery is fully covered for the warranty duration. The exception to this coverage is the naturally occurring decline in battery capacity. This decline is unavoidable and not a defect.

Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Coverage

This part of your warranty covers the airbags, seatbelts, and all their system components. These items are protected for five years or 60,000 miles.

Corrosion Coverage

All sheet metal in your Ford is protected against perforation by corrosion for five years, regardless of mileage. Perforation is corrosion that forms a hole through metal from one side to the other.
