Home Backup Power

Power outages can happen, and if they last more than a few minutes, it’s time to start worrying about the food in your refrigerator and freezer. Without power, food spoils in a refrigerator after four hours and after two days in the freezer. Without electricity, you can’t even brew a coffee! When you have an F-150 Lightning, these situations won’t happen to you.

The F-150 Lightning can power your house in an emergency. You’ll need a Ford Charge Station Pro, which has up to 80 amps and the fastest recharging for your vehicle’s battery. Home Backup activation is already included if you have an extended battery or available for a small fee from Ford with the standard battery. When the power goes out, plug in your vehicle and use the touch screen to deliver safe power to your home for up to two days.

Battery Power

The F-150 Lightning has dual electric motors and AWD. The regular 98.0 kWh battery pack enables the motors to supply 452 hp and 775 lb-ft of torque. The extended range 131 kWh battery, which is either standard or available, depending on your trim choice, ups the ante and delivers 580 hp with 775 lb-ft of torque. It also includes a dual onboard charger for even faster battery charging.

The standard battery achieves 76 MPGe in the city and 61 MPGe on the highway, with a range of 230 miles on a full charge. The extended battery provides 78 MPGe in the city and 63 MPGe on the highway, with an increased range of 320 miles. You can recharge either battery at home using 110 or 220-volt outlets, or on public DC fast-charging stations, which will give you a 65% charged battery in 44 minutes.

Intelligent Range

This clever system uses cloud-based computing, driving conditions, and your driving habits to calculate your driving range accurately. It adjusts for temperature, road topography, wind speed, traffic speed, and the weight in the truck bed or towed behind you.

The system also learns from you by your driving habits to determine how you use energy and saves this information for use in future calculations. Your range is updated in real time, so you never have to worry about running out of juice.
